Turf Care
We offer several unique plans and add on services to better suite your specific needs.
Gold Plan
The gold service plan consists of 10 applications to keep your turf healthy. The main components are:
- Lawn fertilization
- Pre-emergent (crabgrass/broadleaf) and post emergent broad leaf control
- Sedge control
- Curative and preventative Fungicide applications for lawn disease
- Lime application
- Liquid and granular applications
Silver Plan
Similar to the Gold plan, our Silver plan consists of 8 applications and is tailored to customers who may not need the fungicide and sedge treatments. The main components of this plan are:
- Lawn fertilization
- Pre-emergent (crabgrass/broadleaf) and post emergent broad leaf control
- Lime application
- Liquid and granular applications
Add On Services
- Fungicides: these treatments are performed when your lawn is facing any number of turf diseases. One common disease in our area is Brown patch. Brown patch thrives when its hot and humid out and night time temps are above 70 degrees. Consistently wet and soggy turf can also create lawn disease and rot. Fungicide treatments are included in the gold plan but can be purchased as stand alone treatments. We do however recommend multiple treatments to maintain healthy turf.
- Sedge control: Sedges show their face once summer is here. They are easily identified by their accelerated growth and bright green color. It is recommended to perform at least two treatments to get control of sedges.
- Grub Control: This service is generally performed early summer only when grubs are present. Luckily, this treatment is generally only needed once a year to maintain control.
- Soil Sampling: Our treatment program is tailored to central VA soil. In some instances, the soil just does not want to cooperate. This is when we will perform a soil sample and advise you on the best way to move forward so we can achieve a lush, beautiful lawn.
- Soil enhancement: This service applies organic fertilizer to revitalize and put natural microbes back into your soil. This service is very popular with new construction properties where most of the top soil has been stripped off during development.
- Bermuda grass control: Do you have a Tall Fescue lawn but every summer that pesky wiregrass starts showing up? With our Bermuda suppression treatments we are able to control the Bermuda grass to allow the Fescue to dominate giving you a clean tall fescue lawn.
- Aeration and Seeding: Usually performed during the same visit, Core aeration is a vital part of any tall fescue maintenance program. Core aeration pulls plugs in the top layer of the soil to allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots. It also allows the existing turf roots to go deeper in the soil which increases turf density and hardiness. The stronger the roots the stronger the turf to withstand climate swings we experience here in central Virginia.
